Homemade Mac and Cheese
50 minutes 4 servings
- 2 cups macaroni - pick your favorite!
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- A pinch of black pepper
- A couple dashes of nutmeg
- A pinch of cayenne pepper - for a little kick!
- 1 cup Plain La Yogurt Probiotic
- 2 cups shredded cheese - we like cheddar!
A feel-good snack to curl up with
Cook the macaroni in salted water according to box directions
Get your oven warmed up to 350 degrees
Melt the butter over medium heat in a pan. Then add the flour and whisk over heat for a couple minutes. Add the milk and cover the pan until your mixture has thickened
Take the pan off the heat and whisk in the spices
Add the La Yogurt Probiotic and stir in all but 1/2 cup of shredded cheese (you’ll sprinkle the rest on top later!)
Pour over the macaroni in a large pot and mix to combine
Spray a baking dish with cooking spray to prevent stickiness, then pour the cheesy macaroni into the pan
Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top for a nice crunchy layer
Bake for a half hour, or until the cheese on top is gooey and melted
